The Asus X55Sv comes with the 45-nanometer Core 2 Duo “Penryn” T8100, T8300, T9300 or T9500 CPU, with speeds from 2.1 GHz to 2.6 GHz. The notebook will be also available with 65nm Core 2 Duo “Merom” processors. The Nvidia GeForce 9500M GS graphics card in the X55Sv has 512MB of dedicated video memory. This GPU supports DirectX 10 games and manages the notebook’s 15.4″ WXGA, WXGA+, or WSXGA+ glossy display. The laptop has up to 4GB of system memory, up to 300GB hard drive, a DVD burner, HD DVD ROM, or Blu-Ray optical drive, and the 1GB Intel Turbo Memory option.

The X55Sv incorporates the Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN connection, an optional Bluetooth module, a Gigabit Ethernet port, and a 56k modem, as well as a built-in web camera and an optional TV tuner.

With these basic components, the Asus X55Sv is very similar to the m51sn. However, the X55Sv features an HDMI output for one-cable HDTV connectivity, which is not present in the m51sn.

Along with the HDMI, the X55Sv includes a VGA output, four USB ports, an 8-in-1 media card reader, and a Firewire port. There is no word on ExpressCard or PC Card expansion slots in the product’s specifications.

This entertainment laptop PC has a keyboard with a numeric pad and weighs approximately 6.55 pounds with a standard 6-cell battery.

The notebook runs Windows Vista operating system.
